Privacy

Typically, boards are placed tightly together to conceal all cracks between so it’s almost impossible to see into the yard.

Semi-Privacy

Boards have a gap between each one of 1-3 inches so that it is possible to see through the fence, but it still serves it’s purpose to keep people out, or your pet in.

Split Rail

When you think of split rail think of South Fork on Dallas (old school reference), this style is typically seen in the country on farms.

This wooden fence style typically will have posts every 8′ and then have 2 – 3 rails running parallel to the ground with gaps in between each of the 3 rails and the ground. Often times another board is added to the top laying flat on the top rail.

Picket Fence

Probably the most popular fence of all time is the picket fence. It’s a very traditional style which has almost become iconic when you think of the “American Dream”.

Don’t be fooled – when it comes to fence designs the possibilities are endless. Pick any of the various wooden fence styles and then customize it to make it unique.

Add a narrow section of lattice at the top of your privacy fence for a very eye appealing look.

Turn your semi-privacy fence into more of a privacy fence by staggering boards with similar gaps to the outside of the fence. The thought is to have the inside boards block the gap between the boards on the outside.

This will allow wind to get through the fence, but greatly hinders people looking through the fence. The only way to see through is at an angle.

After installing a privacy fence cut an elongated U-shape across the top of the boards to give the fence a wave look.
